The Sweetwater Woman’s Club was organized in 1911 by a few women of the Sweetwater Valley. They were originally a sewing club. As the Valley was very rural in the early years and the farms were miles apart, the women found themselves helping in other ways. If a family needed help the women would bring food or provide care for the children. They pitched in wherever they were needed.
One-hundred thirteen years later, we are still involved with charitable work. We have a quilting group and a knitting group that will also teach you if you wish to learn these two crafts. Fall is a very busy time for us as we prepare to host our Bonita Holiday Craft Show on October 17, 18 and 19 from 10:00 to 4:00pm. We hold Bunco games the 2nd Tuesday of each month. Bunco is easy to learn, fun and a good way to make friends. All of these activities are fundraisers and the money is used for our philanthropy work.
We are located at 3855 Sweetwater Road, Bonita. Our phone number is 619-479-7888. For more information, give us a call. Hope to see you at one of our functions.
