Savage World Descends on the Quiet, Rural Neighborhoods of Bonita

Yesterday, December 17, 2024, San Diego County Sheriff's deputies found two bodies inside a sedan near Orchard Hill Road and Cresta Verde Lane in Bonita. That's right across the street from Rohr Park.

"Due to the suspicious nature of the incident, the sheriff's Homicide Unit responded to the scene and took over the investigation," Lt. Michael Krugh said.

The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the cause and manner of the deceased.

In late October of this year, a 22-year old woman from La Mesa was found fatally shot near a cul-de-sac at the end of Quarry Road. A deputy on patrol found the body at 3am on October 20th. She was shot four times and bound at the wrist with makeshift handcuffs. Evaline Janet Lemus of Chula Vista pleaded guilty to second-degree murder.

Three homicides in about two months. Has brutal homicide come to Bonita or have we just become their dumping ground?
