New SCPG Officers Preside Over Their First Meeting

Updated: Feb 28

The January 7, 2025 meeting of the Sweetwater Community Planning Committee provided the election for this year's officers. In a surprise twist, the newest publicly-elected members became the new Officers! Instead of Co-Chairs—as has been the norm for the past twenty years—the members voted for a Chair and Vice Chair position. The Officers for 2025 will be Felix Felix, Chair; Patty O'Mara, Vice Chair; and Lori Noe, Secretary. None of these individuals had been elected officers in the past.

These three new officers performed their new duties during the February 4, 2024 meeting with Felix Felix conducting the meeting as Chair. The meeting was run smoothly with, in my opinion, more civility than in the past.

In a move never witnessed before (maybe because the same officers return year after year), the past officers were openly thanked for their work and dedication and presented a certificate. It was a wonderful gesture.

A lot goes on at the SCPG meetings that actually affect you and your quality of life. If you would like a say in the future of your community, you might wish to attend these monthly meetings.

The Sweetwater Community Planning Group meets the first Tuesday of the month at 7pm at the Bonita-Sunnyside Fire Station located at 4900 Bonita Road (the light at Acacia Avenue). See you there!
