Narissa Quemuel Reyes, affectionately known as Nerrie, was called to eternal rest on September 7, 2024, at the age of 73 in Bonita, California. Born on February 18, 1951 in Rosario, Cavite; Philippines, she was a beloved figure in the San Diego community, where she dedicated her life to the noble pursuit of music education.
Nerrie's education includes a Master of Arts in Music with emphasis in Piano Pedagogy from SDSU and served with distinction as a Piano and Voice Teacher at NSQR Music Education Services until her retirement. She directed a music ensemble group for the Samahan Philippine Dance Company. Her legacy includes a tenure as a Choral Director and Music Teacher within the San Diego Unified School District, where she was revered for her commitment to fostering musical talent and academic excellence.
A woman of faith and family, Nerrie found her greatest joy in the simple pleasures of life. Her unwavering strength and boundless love served as the cornerstone of her family, and her serene and amiable nature provided solace to all who were graced by her presence.
She is survived by a devoted son, a loving daughter, three cherished grandchildren, an adored great-granddaughter, and her warmhearted brother and sister-in-law. Her memory will be treasured by her family and the countless individuals whose lives she touched with her music and kindness.
