Francisco Diaz, MD

Francisco Diaz passed away at his home in Bonita on March 7, 2024. Dr. Diaz was born in Guadalajara, Mexico. He attended University of Guadalajara Medical School from 1947 to 1953 with a diploma and award.

He had his surgical residency in both Mexico and Mercy Hospital of San Diego. He practiced General Surgery and OB/GYN in Private practice in Tijuana, Mexico from 1959 to 2001. He was founder and Medical Director of Hospital del Carmen and General Surgeon at County Hospital in Tijuana and Social Security Hospital in Tijuana. He was a staff doctor to the International Olympic Committee Worlds movement in Mexico City in 1968. He had a diploma from the United States Medical Society in Mexico in 1969.

He married Patty Weingart in 1991 where they enjoyed traveling and a second home in Puerto Vallarta.He is survived by his wife Patty, brother Jorge, sister Martha, three children, three grandchildren and one great-grandson, and many loving nephews and nieces.
