BVGC Annual Tea Another Smashing Success

Bonita Valley Garden Club members recently held their Annual Tea last Wednesday, February 12th. The event was full of fun and camaraderie, with many members dressing up in costume to match their table's theme.

Co-hosts Lisa Mercier and Pauline Waters went with a Disney theme this year with member Sandra Graff providing the entertainment. There were ten tables in all with 8-9 members and guests at each table.

The themes selected for the tables were centered around Disney movies and characters:

• 101 Dalmatians

• Peter Pan

• Winnie the Pooh

• Tinkerbell

• The Little Mermaid

• Alice in Wonderland

• Minnie Mouse

• Mickey Mouse

• Frozen

• Jungle Book

Guests were seated at their tables at 10 am after touring the room and enjoying all the different table decorations.

Table hosts served their guests hot tea, finger sandwiches, dessert and plenty of TLC.

Program Emcee Sandra Graff provided a delightful summarization of all the movies that had inspired the table themes.

Vera Matthias founded the Bonita Valley Garden Club in 1972 along with six other women. The Garden Club is just finishing up their 53rd year and now has almost 100 members!

By noon, the room was packed up and void of any sign that the event had occurred. And the magic moved on!
