The Miracle Softball League for children and adults with disabilities started their season with the help of the La Voz Optimist Club and the Bonita Optimist Club.
The founders of the “Padres” team, made up of children and young adults with disabilities, are pictured here with Jose and Dr. Becky Melchor.
The team plays on Saturdays at Bell Middle School in San Diego with the help of parents and Optimists who serve as coaches and mentors, walking the students around the bases, pushing the wheelchairs from base to base and giving all around support.
All children and adults with disabilities are welcome if they register. 619-890-6624
